How Old Do You See Yourself As

Am I the only one out there who has to remind themselves that they are actually (insert here age) – or is this a common trait among us all?
Not a day goes by – when at some time during the day I feel like a 16yo trapped in the body of a much more ‘mature’ person.
Peter Pan complex – perhaps, denial – perhaps or simply the conscious lobes refusing to conform – whatever it is – am I the only one out there?
Does this perception stem from the time in our lives when we felt most empowered? Most adventurous? Carefree? Attractive?
Sure we have do all grow up – but do we ever – really?
Does the boss still harbour a pimply faced 14 year-old’s insecurities – but mask these whilst donning an ‘adults facade’.
So how do you see yourself?
How old are you really?

Oh man. I feel so much younger than I actually am. I would put my attitudinal age at about 22 most of the time, but sometimes I still feel like that insecure girl of 16. My real age is 31.
It’s interesting…our own perceptions of ourselves. I’m certain that I’ve matured quite a bit since my teen years, but I don’t feel much different than that girl who was an awkward nerd in orchestra and debate and struggled to find an identity. I guess the only difference between the Natalina of then and now is that I now embrace the weirdo that I am. At that time I was very self conscious about the things that made me different.

Yeah, am 31 but feel about 7 again when I’m playing with my old Star Wars action figures …

I go through this every day. I’m 47, but when I think of myself, I am 32. I’m always wondering if my dad ever felt this way, and think about what he was like when he was my current age. It seems as though we are worlds apart.
By the time he was 47, he had been married over 20 years and had adult children. Neither of those things are true for me. Never married, no children. I wonder if that is why I have this self-image of being younger than I really am. I look at my contemporaries and to me they seem so old. It’s really wierd.
