While it wasn’t embarrassing then, it probably is now to say that Michael Jackson was my first real ‘favorite artist’ – back when he was actually black, well darkish anyway. The time of Billie Jean and Thriller. I was about 5 I think.

Throughout the rest of the ’80s it was Nik ‘Wide Boy’ Kershaw and then Rick ‘Never Gonna Give You Up’ Astley.

I’ll put my hand up as well and say I was also a big Toto fan. But even better than ‘Africa’, which is a classic, was ‘Rosanna’

One of my all-time favorites, and still is, has to be Dexy’s Midnight Runners’ Come on Eileen…

Of course it’s nothing but ‘cool’ stuff these days hehe
